Proudly sharing ideas worth spreading since 2009
TEDxUF is a student-led organization consisting of over 50 University of Florida undergraduate and graduate students as well as several UF Faculty members who are passionately driven by ideas worth spreading and the intense belief that they can change their community and the world for the better.
Our organization offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on professional experience in a range of disciplines, bringing together a diverse group of students majoring in fields from design and visual arts to STEM to the social sciences.

TEDx where x = independently organized TED event, is a program created by TED to bring communities together by sharing TED-like experiences locally. At a TEDx event, hand-picked live speakers combine with TED Talk videos to spark deep discussions and human connection. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized and subject to certain rules and regulations.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or fewer) delivered by today’s leading thinkers and doers. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design – three areas that are collectively shaping our future. Many of these talks are given at TED’s annual conference in Vancouver, and made available for free on TED.com. Past TED speakers include Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Simon Sinek, Sir Richard Branson, Sarah Silverman, Al Gore, Stephen Hawking, and Salman Khan.

TEDxUF strives to connect the bold ideas of both the University of Florida and the greater Gainesville community. The University of Florida is a current top 5 public institution, producing cutting-edge research and students entering the workforce at highly competitive levels.
